On April 7, 1724, Johann Sebastian Bach premiered his Johannes-Passion in Leipzig, Germany. 300 years later, on May 4 & 5, Charis will perform this beloved masterwork. Artistic Director Jeremy Wiggins and accompanist Terence J. Flanagan have prepared the choir.
The starring role of the Evangelist will be sung by Grammy-nominated British tenor, Ryland Angel and international bass-baritone Christopher Grundy will sing the role of Jesus. Our Concertmaster, Nelva TeBrake, has assembled some of the finest Baroque instrumentalists in the NY region.
